As the world is seen as becoming ever more complex, two distinct reactions are arising. On one hand, there is a down-to-earth need for reassurance, harmony and comfort. On the other hand, the ongoing global crisis is leading to a call for renewed energy, imagination and creativity.  Fashion and beauty reflect a vision of contemporary society.

These four main styles are forecast for autumn.winter 2010.11:

The Dreamscape woman likes to play with gender-crossing feminine and masculine styles. Her attitude towards make-up is typically dual: adopting either a dark and moody, near gothic look or a fresh, angelic almost childish beauty.

The color palette features a somber and moody range of grayed and inky shades offset by dusty pastels and highlighted by tangy brights. The vivid shades are winter’s new floral tones.

The colorful pastels create a fresh and easy look with diffuse halos, subtle gradations and powdery contours. For a more sophisticated and mysterious evening style, the colored grays create novel smoky eyes.

New energy! Self-confident, alluring and outgoing, the Daring Chic woman is open to new influences and eccentric items.

Her daytime make-up could be light and feminine but for going out, she will play with bolder colors and textures. A range of golden tones is mixed with bright, dense accents on matte or shiny grounds. Colored metallic shades highlight the palette.

The mineral or smooth complexion has a healthy glow. Smoky eyes are emphasized by the comeback of kohl in color and highlighted with sparkling effects. Lips are glossy and either nude or coated with color.

The silhouette of the 4th Dimension woman is a careful blend of classicism and experimentation, retro and futuristic. In cosmetics, she’ll try new formulas and colors but tends to keep them low-key.

The color palette is made of cold neutral tones, felted grays, mercury, charcoal up to navy blue, with concrete and beige to soften and warm up the mood. A strange mauve is used for highlights.

On a white and powdery complexion, the nude look is decked in grays and illuminated by strange pearly, mauve or jade accents. Color is applied from the eyelids to the temples.

The Transmission woman looks for garments that are chic and elegant but also comfortable and easy to wear to adapt to her active professional and social life. She subtly plays with light and shade.

The warm palette is made of caramel beiges, browns and khakis, highlighted with a coral pink and an intense luminous red. Nuanced cherry, raspberry and gray tinged pinks round off the cosmetic range.

A powdery smooth complexion is decked in rich beiges and voluptuous browns, smoky chocolates and grays. The nude look is given a sophisticated feel with novel colorless glossy effects on eyelids or with perfectly matching caramel total looks from eyes to nails to lips. Pinks add vitality and energy for an edgier look.
